Traveling with children doesn’t have to be stressful. As you prepare to bring your little ones with you on your next charter flight, take a look at our tips on how to fly with children on a private jet.

Seating Arrangements

Private jet regulations permit a child to travel on your lap only if they are under the age of two-years-old. Children two-years-of-age and older are required by law to travel in their own seat. For you and your child’s comfort, Privé Jets can arrange for a child seat or booster seat to be placed on your private jet.

Flying with Babies

Hesitant about traveling with a newborn baby? There’s no need to worry. Currently there are no regulations against flying with a newborn child. However, we suggest that you only fly with a newborn when you are completely comfortable, and have a valid passport for your baby.

Flying with Baby Milk and Food

If you’d like, you can bring your baby’s milk and food on board your private jet. Once you arrive to board your aircraft, you can hand over the baby food to the FBO staff and have them take it on board along with the catering.

If you are flying with your child’s medication, keep in mind that medicine is subject to approved liquid limits. We advise that you inform your Privé Jets account executive in advance if you plan on traveling with medicine, so they can ensure you have a safe and comfortable flight.

Traveling with a Baby Carriage or Stroller

If you are traveling with small children, especially babies it is likely that you will also be traveling with their strollers. Fortunately private jets have fewer luggage restrictions than commercial airlines, and you are able to bring your baby’s stroller straight onto the private jet.

Depending on the size and luggage capacity of your aircraft, it is best that you stow the stroller in the luggage compartment.

Safety

Without a doubt, safety is a top priority for all charter flights. All aircraft used by Privé Jets are certified under FAA Regulations Part 135. This regulation establishes the safety, maintenance, minimum requirements and operation standards for the chartering industry. Our vendors exceed FAA requirements, and have pilots who have attended the nation’s top flight-training facilities and possess thousands of hours of experience. 

Luggage Capacity

Deciding what to bring can be one of the most difficult parts of planning any trip, especially for others. When planning a private jet fight, the amount of luggage that can be brought depends on the size and capacity of your aircraft.

We recommend that passengers use soft-sided duffel bags when possible, as these types of bags makes it easier for the flight crew to organize and properly stow away all items in the luggage department.

Be sure to ask your Privé Jets account executive what the luggage capacity is for your aircraft. Also, it’s a good idea to inform them on how much luggage you intend to bring, so they can better accommodate you.

Onboard Catering

On most flights, Privé Jets can arrange for basic catering which includes dry snacks and soft drinks free of charge. If your boss would prefer to have special catering aboard your private jet, Privé Jets can provide you with a menu of food options during the booking process.

Flight Itinerary Changes

In the event that unforeseen issues occur, and you are required to make changes to your itinerary such as a different departure time or arrival location, contact your Privé Jets account executive immediately. Our staff is available 24/7 to assist you, and make sure all your jet charter needs are fulfilled.

This luxury business jet can fly nonstop for up to 5,000 nautical miles (9,300 km), and can achieve a maximum speed of Mach 1. The Bombardier Global Express also features a wingspan of 94 feet and has a maximum service ceiling of 51,000 feet.

Donald Trump

This iconic billionaire has been the owner of a Boeing 727, luxury aircraft for over 20 years. This particular aircraft has been configured to accommodate up to 23 passengers. It has one master bedroom, a dining area, and conference rooms. The aircraft has been adorned with leather armchairs, gold-plated seatbelt buckles, Waterford crystal lamps, and the Trump logo decorated in a 23-carat gold livery.

Jay-Z

Music moguls Jay-Z and Beyonce own a Bombardier Challenger 850 worth an estimated $40 million. This aircraft is decked out with a cream leather-fabricated living room, a kitchen, one bedroom, and two bathrooms.

Tom Cruise

Tom Cruise owns a Gulfstream G-IV, which has an estimated worth of $36 million. This magnificent aircraft is manned by a crew of two, seats up to 19 passengers, and climb up to an altitude of 45,000 miles.

Oprah Winfrey

When Oprah Winfrey travels, she flies in the luxury of her VIP Global Express business jet. This aircraft was custom designed for Oprah by Bombardier Aerospace. It has been configured to withstand a higher cruise speed, increased range, and improved cabin lighting. John Travolta
